ABOUT

Clear Lake State Park offers a variety of recreational opportunities and natural beauty. It is located next to Cleark Lark, which is the largest natural lake, wholly within California with 100 miles of shore length. Spanning approximately 590 acres, Clear Lake State Park features four campgrounds—Cole Creek, Kelsey Creek, Lower Bayview, and Upper Bayview—with a total of 147 campsites, including options for tents and RVs. The park also provides group campsites, a swimming beach open from sunrise to sunset, a boat launch, and a marina.

Popular activities include swimming, fishing, boating, and hiking. Notable trails include the 2.5-mile Dorn Trail, showcasing the park’s natural features, and the accessible Kelsey Creek Trail, ideal for viewing waterfowl. The half-mile Indian Nature Trail offers a self-guided look at the historical use of the area by the Pomo people.

Situated 3.5 miles northeast of Kelseyville, the park is a nesting ground for waterfowl and part of a landscape shaped by a landslide thousands of years ago, making Clear Lake one of North America’s oldest lakes. Established in 1949, it remains a serene destination.
