ABOUT

Robert Louis Stevenson State Park extends to three counties – Sonoma, Lake and Napa – and is managed by the Napa Parks OSD. Named after the famous Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson, who honeymooned there in 1880. The five-mile fire road leading to the summit of Mount St. Helena (4,343 feet), is a challenging hike, and other trails heading east toward the Palisades offer majestic views of the Napa Valley and sheer rock cliffs jutting over oak woodlands and sprawling vineyards. On clear days, visitors can see the San Francisco Bay Area, the Sierra Nevada, and even Mount Shasta, 192 miles away.
