What does this mean?
1. You can help spread the word about this program with your group and especially at local schools, colleges and youth (e.g. Girl/Boy Scout/Venturing, 4H, church and other community) groups. Get them to organize an outdoors trail event – whether it’s paddling, hiking or riding horses or bikes (non-motorized only). Try to get them to plan a fun, public, trail-related event for Saturday, June 6, 2015 (the date is flexible … but keep it around June 6th!)
2. Participate in Trails Day Challenges! When you’re out on any water or land trail in the 6 weekends (April 18 – June 6) leading up to National Trails Day, you can post photos for a chance to win a special sponsored prize package during each weekend. The purpose of this campaign is to get people outside to gear up for National Trails Day.
3. Then on or around June 6, 2015, National Trails Day, thousands of recreation and stewardship events will take place on trails around the country, and of course, here in Lake County. And make sure you bring your camera for the NTD 2015 Photo Contest! Make sure that you submit your photo and caption to contest@AmericanHiking.org or visit the link above for other submission options.
So if you’re organizing an event, please contact Konocti Regional Trails so that we can post your event on Meetup and our special National Trails Day page, as well as promote it on Facebook and Twitter @konoctitrails.
